What do car export papers cost in Hengelo? All our prices explained

From €50, we deregister the vehicle for export in the Dutch vehicle register. For that price you get:

• the export certificate (kentekenbewijs deel II, registration certificate part II) and the registration card with one corner cut off, for the buyer;
• the vrijwaringsbewijs for the seller, the proof that the Dutch registration has stopped;
• processing with the RDW.

Plates and insurance are extra; deregistration at the desk is explained under car export documents.

If the car leaves on its own wheels, it needs white export plates and temporary insurance. Export insurance with white plates, from €100, gives you 14 days of third-party liability cover, a Green Card and the plates (two for a car), but no export document. The complete export package, from €150, covers everything in one visit. We are not an insurer; cover is arranged through our insurance partner.

Need more time abroad? You can extend the export insurance from €120 per 14 days, subject to the insurer's approval. For destinations outside the EU, an EX-A customs export declaration may be needed as well.

Living further away, or already abroad? Prepare the request online and send the yellow Dutch plates by post or courier; they must physically reach us, and we start once they arrive. Documents and plates come back insured and tracked, abroad too. The second table shows the postal rates; international delivery costs more and is confirmed in advance.

A caravan or trailer also needs export insurance when it is exported. The details depend on weight:

• Trailer up to 750 kg. It has no registration of its own in the Netherlands. We arrange the export insurance on its chassis number, and its white export plate carries the towing vehicle's registration number.
• Over 750 kg. The caravan or trailer has its own registration and gets one white plate at the rear, with that number.

The Dutch government explains which plate a trailer or caravan needs (in Dutch). Caravan and trailer rates are guide prices, set after a check of your situation. Motorhomes, vans and trucks over 2,500 kg are priced on request, as insurance and processing can cost more.

The third table lists services that not every export needs:

• One-day insurance or inspection cover is for a single permitted one-day trip, with conditions checked first.
• APK service means help with the APK, the Dutch roadworthiness test, by arrangement.
• Breakdown assistance is offered on selected routes only, charged per day.
• COC assistance and vehicles with foreign documents are priced on request: the COC route differs per manufacturer and importer, and foreign documents and the risk are checked first.

The BPM refund service has a fixed fee and does not include the export document. The Dutch Tax Administration decides on the refund itself; see its page on the BPM refund for a used vehicle.

The tables apply during office hours, Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 16:30. You may pay more:

• On Sundays. We open by appointment only, at a higher rate. Call or WhatsApp first for the final price.
• Outside office hours. We work 24/7 by appointment; a surcharge may apply.
• For postal delivery. Shipping costs more than collecting, especially abroad.
• For heavy or non-standard vehicles, such as a truck or a heavy motorhome.

Before we deregister, insure or ship anything, you know the price. For the additional services, a written price confirmation for your vehicle, route, start date and shipping always applies. You pay in cash or by bank transfer.
