- Free, no-obligation offer
- Cars built in 2008 or later
- Export transfer at our desk
Living in or around Hengelo and thinking of selling a car with high mileage, a diesel or a company van? Through Auto Export Hengelo you can request a free, no-obligation offer from car companies abroad. We do not buy cars ourselves. We pass your details on to our network, forward any offer to you and, once you agree, handle the export paperwork at our RDW-approved desk at Slachthuisweg 135.
The desk is right here in town, about 2 km from the Markt square, so you can also ask your questions in person, Monday to Saturday between 10:00 and 16:30.
The cars our export partners are looking for
- Mileage above 200,000 km
- Diesel cars
- Ex-lease cars
- Company vans
- Damaged cars
- Built in 2008 or later
Free and without obligation: requesting an offer costs you nothing
How it works
- You send us the details and photos of your car, via the form or WhatsApp.
- We pass your car's details on to our network of car companies abroad. They may make an offer.
- If an offer comes in, we forward it to you. You decide whether to sell.
- Agreed? The export transfer can take place at our desk in Hengelo: you receive the vrijwaringsbewijs (proof of deregistration), the buyer receives the export documents and, if needed, export insurance and two white plates.
We act as an intermediary; the offer comes from a car company abroad. There is no guarantee of an offer.
Selling a high-mileage, diesel or ex-lease car for export
The overview above shows the kind of cars our export partners look for. These are examples rather than strict rules, but the build year is firm: 2008 or later. Not sure your car fits? Requesting an offer costs nothing and commits you to nothing, so you can always ask.
For a damaged car, describe the damage honestly and photograph it. A car company abroad first sees your car only through your details and photos.
What to send us: car details and photos
For an offer we need:
- the registration number;
- make and model;
- year of manufacture;
- mileage;
- fuel type;
- condition and any damage;
- photos.
Photos are easiest by WhatsApp. The form at the bottom of this page has no upload field, so there is a button to send photos and documents by WhatsApp. It opens WhatsApp with a pre-filled message, including your name and registration number if you have already entered them in the form. Email works too. Useful photos: all sides, the interior, the dashboard with the mileage, and any damage.
How we connect you with car companies abroad
We pass your car on to our network of car companies abroad. A company that is interested makes an offer, we forward it to you, and you decide whether to sell. If you say no, that is the end of it, at no cost.
Two things to know. The offer comes from a car company abroad, not from us: we do not buy cars ourselves. And we cannot promise that an offer will come; that depends on the partners in our network.
The export transfer at our Hengelo desk
If you accept an offer, the export transfer can take place at our desk. With an export, the car is not first registered in the foreign buyer's name in the Netherlands; according to the RDW, the buyer exports the vehicle in his or her own name. After that:
- you, the seller, receive the vrijwaringsbewijs, the proof that the registration has stopped;
- the buyer receives the export certificate (registration certificate part II) and the registration card with one corner cut off;
- if the buyer drives the car away, export insurance and two white export plates can be added.
What to bring for the deregistration:
Checklist
- Valid passport, ID card or driving licence of the person the export is registered to
- The Dutch registration card (kentekencard) with its registration code (tenaamstellingscode), or the old paper parts (part 1B and the transfer certificate)
- The Dutch yellow number plates (one plate for a motorcycle, scooter, moped, caravan or trailer)
- The current mileage
- The full foreign address of the buyer
- For insurance and plates: start date, destination and route, plus details of the policyholder and the driver
Source: RDW. For a business buyer we also need the company name, address and VAT number.
More on this step under car export documents. The RDW explains the process in English on its page about exporting a vehicle.
Costs of selling your car for export
For you as the seller, requesting an offer is free. The buyer pays for the export papers: the export document from €50 and, when driving away, export insurance with white plates from €100, or everything together in the complete export package from €150. See all car export papers prices.
After the sale: proof of deregistration for the seller
Keep the vrijwaringsbewijs safe. According to the RDW, the Dutch owner's insurance obligation, APK obligation and motor vehicle tax end after export. Bring the yellow plates to the desk: they are handed in there.
If the buyer drives off, the car may be used on Dutch public roads for 14 days after deregistration, but never beyond the APK expiry date. Abroad, each country has its own rules. More about the plates: Dutch export plates.
